KATHARINE MCDONOUGH is a musical theatre performer who just wrapped a two-year contract playing “Elsa” in FROZEN: Live at the Hyperion at Disney California Adventure. Other favorite roles include “Marian” in The Music Man, “Evelyn Nesbit” in Ragtime, and the title role in Mary Poppins. She received her Bachelor’s in Theatre and Vocal Performance from Pepperdine University and seeks to fuse both classical vocal technique and theatre text analysis into the musical theatre art form.

Katharine aims to create an open, supportive, low-pressure environment where her students can, as Ms. Frizzle would say, “take risks, make mistakes, and get messy.” She specializes in translating healthy technique into contemporary pop/rock singing, as well as selecting repertoire and coaching techniques for both college and professional auditions. She hopes, at the end of every lesson, that each of her students feels more confident and self-possessed, both as an artist and as a human being!
