Rick Messina currently works at Rachel Tenner Casting. Casting Director Credits include: VUDU / MGM series Mr. Mom, the Audience Network series Hit the Road starring Jason Alexander and the Viceland series What Would Diplo Do?, starring James Van Der Beek. Prior he worked with McCarty/Abellera Casting as a Casting Director on the STARZ series Blunt Talk starring Patrick Stewart and as an Associate Casting Director on the Netflix Series Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later and the Sony feature Jumanji staring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart & Jack Black. Past projects include: The TBS pilot World’s End written by Jonathan Ames, the FOX Series The Grinder starring Rob Lowe and Fred Savage, The New Line Cinema feature Keanu and CBS films’ Middle School, The Worst Years Of My Life. He recently served as casting director on the independent movie After The Reality starring Matthew Morrison & Sarah Chalke. He also worked on 3 seasons of the hit Comedy Central series, Workaholics starring Adam Devine, Anders Holm and Blake Anderson. Rick has also helped to cast the Disney feature Tomorrowland starring George Clooney, and two pilots for ABC, The Pro starring Rob Lowe and An American Education starring Jack Whitehall and Rosie Perez. Rick has worked on two Amazon pilots, Betas and Bowsers and the WB/CW pilot The Carrie Diaries produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (The OC, Gossip Girl). Prior to that, Rick served as a casting associate for the number one rated soap, The Young and the Restless. Rick has worked on such projects as Parenthood, United States of Tara, Enlightened, Terra Nova, Temple Grandin starring Claire Danes, and Yes Man with Jim Carrey. While working in New York, Rick helped to cast several Broadway shows, including Nine to Five, Wicked, Cry Baby, and Legally Blonde with the renowned casting director, Bernie Telsey. Rick graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor of arts in theatre arts/film with a minor in business. Rick is also an alumnus from the Orange County School of the Arts.
